Welcome to Revival Space. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of custom kitchens, built-in wardrobes, architectural joinery, timber and composite decking, and custom sauna installations by Revival Space ("we", "us", or "our") to our clients. By requesting an estimate, submitting drawings, approving a scope of work, or instructing us to perform carpentry and installation work, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Quotes and Cost Estimates
- All quotes and scope estimates provided by us are valid for a period of fourteen (14) days from the date of issue. Prices may vary thereafter due to fluctuations in timber and raw material costs.
- Quotes are based strictly on architectural drawings, cut-lists, measurements, and hardware specifications provided by the architect, designer, or assessed during site measurement visits. Any subsequent design revisions or on-site changes will be quoted as a variation.
- A signed quote or written email confirmation, accompanied by the required deposit payment, constitutes a binding instruction for us to schedule manufacturing and installation slots.
2. Payment Terms
- Unless otherwise agreed in writing for trade accounts, our standard payment schedule for custom carpentry and timber installations is as follows:
- Deposit: 60% upon acceptance of the quote (required for material ordering, board cut-and-edge, and workshop scheduling).
- Delivery / Progress: 30% upon workshop completion and commencement of site installation.
- Final Balance: 10% upon practical completion, snag-list inspection, and client sign-off.
- All timber products, cabinetry, and hardware remain the legal property of Revival Space until the project invoice is settled in full.
- Late payments will attract interest at a rate of 2% above the prevailing South African prime lending rate per month, calculated from the due date until paid.
3. Site Access & Conditions
To ensure seamless installation and precision fitments, the client/contractor is responsible for:
- Providing free, clear, and unhindered access to the installation area during standard working hours (08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday).
- Ensuring wet trades (plastering, screeding, painting, tiling) are fully cured and dry before cabinetry and timber installations commence to prevent moisture damage to wood substrates.
- Ensuring the availability of basic utilities on-site (electricity and lighting) at the client's cost.
- Securing all necessary estate access permits, HOA clearances, and work hour approvals.
4. Timelines and Installation Schedules
- Manufacturing and installation timelines provided are estimates. We make every reasonable effort to adhere to schedules, but we are not liable for delays caused by:
- Unfinished prep work by preceding trades (e.g. unlevel walls, wet screeds, electrical rough-ins).
- Speciality hardware or board import backorders from third-party manufacturers (e.g. Blum, Häfele, PG Bison).
- Estate access delays or restrictions during peak security hours.
5. Warranties and Workmanship
- We guarantee our carpentry and installation workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months from practical completion.
- Hardware warranties (runners, soft-close hinges, lift mechanisms) are backed by respective manufacturer guarantees (e.g. Häfele, Blum lifetime warranties).
- Natural timber characteristics (grain variations, subtle color shifting, seasonal expansion/contraction in external timber decking) are inherent natural properties and do not constitute defective workmanship.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Revival Space shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of project delays. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total contract price paid by the client for the specific carpentry scope under dispute.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
